What is a Wet Room / Walk In Shower?

A wet room is a tanked or waterproofed bathroom with a shower area that is the same level as the rest of the bathroom floor. The water gets drained away via a drain which is flush to the floor within the shower area and creates an open plan wet room space. This removes the need for an enclosure, however, people do still sometimes prefer a glass screen to prevent water from splashing outside of the shower area.

Wet room areas are also ideal for those who are disabled or have mobility problems, as it generally provides more space to move and no steps to get in. Overall, wet rooms require less maintenance and cleaning and are a hygienic option for the whole family.
